Draped across the back of the original carriage blanket is the magnificent pelt of a tiger, its dramatic stripes flowing from the shoulders to the hem as though the great cat has only just slipped into the surrounding foliage. Its original glass eyes, carefully preserved from the historic blanket, remain brilliantly expressive—an increasingly rare detail that gives remarkable life and character to the artwork while preserving an authentic piece of the textile's nineteenth-century craftsmanship.
