Crafted from an authentic American carriage blanket dating between 1890 and 1930, Renaissance of Roses is a one-of-a-kind Nomadic Reign Couture creation. Bearing its individual serial number and artist's signature, this heirloom garment preserves a remarkable piece of American textile history. Originally woven to provide warmth and protection for horse-drawn carriage travel during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, these blankets have become increasingly rare. Through thoughtful restoration and master craftsmanship, their stories are carried forward into wearable works of art.

Like a Renaissance still life brought to life in textile form, this exceptional Chase carriage blanket blossoms with an abundant bouquet of crimson, blush, ivory, and golden roses emerging from rich emerald foliage. Set against a dramatic charcoal field and framed by the blanket's original ornamental borders, the composition possesses the depth and richness of an Old World oil painting. Rich black wool from the original blanket has been thoughtfully preserved throughout the sleeves and front panels, allowing the magnificent floral arrangement to reveal itself with quiet elegance as the wearer moves.

A sumptuous collar of wine-colored velvet crowns the silhouette, echoed by matching velvet cuffs layered beneath the original floral blanket. Both are finished with antique Scalamandré silk braid, lending subtle texture and refined opulence. Two discreet silk-lined pockets are seamlessly incorporated into the front of the coat, balancing practicality with couture craftsmanship. Completing the exterior is a magnificent Renaissance Revival-style clasp in engraved gilt metal, serving as a jewel-like focal point worthy of the garment's extraordinary heritage.

Inside, luminous sage silk has been hand-tufted into an elegant diamond pattern, creating a softly quilted effect reminiscent of antique wall coverings and upholstered interiors found throughout Europe's grand estates. The interior hem is enriched with golden velvet before giving way to antique passementerie adorned with silk ropes, tassels, and delicate accents in shades of sage, blush, and soft gold. Along the lower edge, vintage silk cone tassels create graceful movement, bringing warmth and texture to every step.

For centuries, roses have spoken a language all their own. Crimson roses symbolize enduring love, golden blossoms represent friendship and joy, while ivory blooms evoke grace and new beginnings. Together they transform this historic textile into more than a beautiful composition—they become a celebration of life's most meaningful relationships, lovingly preserved within a future heirloom.

Every Nomadic Reign Couture creation is entirely one of one. No two historic textiles are ever alike, ensuring that Renaissance of Roses can never be replicated. A remarkable union of American textile history, master craftsmanship, and timeless romance, it is a future heirloom destined to be treasured for generations.

Preserve the Beauty:

Our bespoke coats, crafted from rare 19th-century carriage lap robes, are cherished antiques with a unique history. To ensure their longevity and maintain their elegance, please follow these care instructions:

  1. Spot Clean Only: Gently spot clean any stains or dirt using a soft cloth or sponge dampened with cool water. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing to prevent damage to the delicate fabric and intricate details.

  2. Avoid Dry Cleaning: Do not dry clean your coat, as the chemicals in dry cleaning solvents can harm the antique materials and intricate embellishments.

  4. Handle with Care: When wearing or handling your coat, be mindful of the delicate fabrics and embellishments. Avoid exposing it to sharp objects or rough surfaces.
